Light in Darkness
Spelunking + Geology
The Adventure Portion will focus on caving safety, caving techniques, and a 3-hour Spelunking course led by an experienced guide. This adventure requires the ability to be in darkness and tight spaces for an extended period of time.
Science will be our focus as we explore Whitings Neck Cave. We will study the formation of caves (Geology), the ecology of groundwater (Hydrology), the various plants and animals which make up a cave ecosystem (Biology), the history of humans and caves (Anthropology), and the science of cave study (Speleology).
We will focus on how Christ is our "Light in the Darkness." In the sport of spelunking, the single most important equipment to have is a light source. In our lives, Christ is that single most important source that will help us overcome the darkness we experience in our lives.
