It is winter... and winter is often associated with cold, dark, death. When we look at the frozen ground, the absence of plant and animals... we must remember that there are seeds and animals in hibernation. There is life... we just do not see it... we do not feel it. Life is about to begin again... the cycle will always go on. Jesus is a reminder that there is life after death... that this earth is only the beginning. Winter is the beginning of the next Spring.
Within this past month, I have had two close friends that lost family members. Our landlords just lost their dog... he was one of Chessie's adopted brothers. Why do things we love, have to die? It is part of life... and we must hold onto our faith that it is only the beginning. This winter will pass.
